Hilarious, star-studded, and fun. Those are the first things that came to mind after seeing the trailer of Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin, a Bob Ong book released in 2012 that’s been made into a movie.
The movie is comprised of three stories. The first, directed by Mark Meily, pokes fun at action movies. It stars a wig-wearing Benjie Paras as the classic vengeful action star and Candy Pangilian as the damsel in distress.
The second spoofs Shake Rattle and Roll. Starring Maricel Soriano and Herbert Bautista, the second movie is about a family forced to stay at a haunted house in the middle of nowhere.
The last references Marimar complete with a Fulgoso counterpart, a mascot dog named “Yagit.” The last story, starring Antoinette Taus, Cristine Reyes, and Paolo Ballesteros, has similar comedic elements to Kimmy Dora. Not surprising as it is directed by Chris Martinez himself.
